Drawing on over five decades of experience — from studying holography in the 1970s to designing accessories for Star Trek: The Next Generation — Brudnak bridges traditional craftsmanship with the emerging potential of AI-driven design. Attendees will discover how digital tools and human imagination merge to expand the possibilities of form, material, and concept in jewelry-making.

Wearable Art Museum (WAM!) Debuts at New York City Jewelry Week 2025

Global Artists and Visionary Jewelry Take Center Stage in NYC — A Week-Long Exhibition Featuring the Inaugural WAM! Luminary Awards and a Special Talk by Star Trek Designer Teri Brudnak

The Wearable Art Museum (WAM!) proudly announces its official launch during New York City Jewelry Week 2025 (NYCJW 2025). From November 19–23, WAM! presents an international showcase of contemporary studio jewelry, featuring artists from Estonia, the UK, the USA, Spain, Latvia, and China. The weeklong exhibition celebrates innovation in wearable art through curated displays, awards, and thought-provoking discussions.

This year’s exhibition will be held at Ot-tra, an award-winning architectural and design studio located at 185 Van Dyke Street, Suite #110, Brooklyn, NY 11231 (Red Hook). The venue offers a 6,000-square-foot, two-level space overlooking the water and the Statue of Liberty. With street parking, accessibility accommodations, and convenient transportation options via subway, bus, or car, Zimmerman Workshop offers a stunning and immersive environment that is worthy of the artists’ work.

The shoppable exhibition is free and open to the public.

Niki Khojandi

Niki Khojandi is an emerging designer whose journey began as a promising fashion student at Parsons School of Design in New York. When the pandemic and political upheaval forced her return home to Tehran, she turned challenge into creativity, developing intricate embroidery and textile works using recycled and donated fabrics. Entirely self-taught, Niki has been creating since childhood—from stop-motion films with handmade clay characters to her current explorations in wearable art. Working from her bedroom, she continues to transform adversity into powerful, imaginative expressions of resilience and hope.

LMB styled Max Alexander with WAM! artists for Miami Swim Week.

WAM! Director LMB was the official styist for the launch of Max Alexander’s swimwear collection during Miami Swim Week. Featured WAM! artists: Andrea Ortiz, Robert Lee Morris, Kiwon Wang, Teri Brudnak, Clatural, Anneli Tammik, Catalina D’Anglade, Jiashi Ying and Deepa Gurnani.

Max Alexander held his swim couture fashion event, "The Original Couture Affair," at The Biltmore Hotel Miami on June 1, 2025 as part of Miami Swim Week. The event, which featured his "Hollywood meets Poolside Glam" swim and resort wear, also included designers Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Isabel Lopez. The fashion show was hosted by Original Living Magazine.

Fashioning Power Fashioning Peace

Lisa curated the representation of five countries in the second annual Fashioning Power, Fashioning Peace exhibition, which opened with a gala on May 5, 2025, at the President Woodrow Wilson House in Washington, D.C.

The four-day exhibition showcased authentic clothing from 50 nations, each symbolizing power, diplomacy, and cultural heritage. Lisa’s curation highlighted the creative voices of Isabel Lopez (Colombia), Andrea Ortiz (Colombia), Niki Khojandi (Iran), Clara Pinkrah-Sam (Ghana), Robert Lee Morris (United States), and Swinda Reichelt (Germany).

A special highlight was the inclusion of the iconic TIE dress by 9-year-old designer Max Alexander (United States), now part of the WAM! Wearable Art Museum permanent collection.

Her work helped spotlight the richness of global artistry while reinforcing the exhibition’s mission of using fashion as a tool for cultural dialogue and peacebuilding.
