This earring was inspired by the innate elegance of Nature, the fascinating movement of its living beings, and the amazing colors they display. During her stay in California, Eleonora Federici had the chance to see and admire this elegant and extraordinary creature in person for the first time in her life. What a wonderful and incredible animal. Not only did it embody exactly what she wanted to represent, but it also had all the characteristics she looks for in a jewel. She could not help but dedicate a jewel to it. It is her way of showing how human beings and animals can live together, respecting and loving each other.
It has the shape and size of an actual hummingbird. Only the beak differs from the real one in order to allow it to go through the hole of the earlobe. In this way, it will not slip away while being worn. The tail holds the upper part of the ear so that most of the weight leans against it. The beak is the actual post of the earring, and the flower is its back. The beak of the hummingbird goes through the hole of the earlobe and, together with the tail resting over the ear, ensures that it will not slip away while wearing it.
